  • Design Thinking in Action: Building a Website for a Freelance Fitness Coach

As a designer, I believe that great websites are built by understanding both the user’s needs and the client’s vision. My client, a freelance fitness coach, chose to work with me because we both value creating inclusive spaces for queer people. Using the Design Thinking process, I ensured the website was not only visually compelling but also aligned with these values and business goals. Here’s a look at how I approached the project:

    1. Empathize: Understanding Users and Client Goals
I began by diving deep into the world of fitness coaching, understanding the needs and challenges faced by potential clients, especially those from the queer community. I also collaborated closely with my client to understand their goals and the unique voice they wanted to bring to their brand. We exchanged messages about preferred color palettes and templates they wanted me to use.

    2. Define: Clarifying Challenges and Opportunities
Through research, I identified key challenges: creating a trustworthy, engaging online experience that speaks authentically to queer clients while showcasing the coach’s expertise. This helped me define the essential features and content that would best serve both the users and the client.

    3. Ideate: Generating Innovative Solutions
I brainstormed creative solutions to address these needs. The focus was on creating a clean, accessible layout with interactive elements like client testimonials and workout guides that would engage and inspire visitors.

    4. Design: Bringing Ideas to Life
Given the project's smaller scale and budget constraints, I moved directly into the design phase. I focused on creating a cohesive visual style that reflected the coach's personality and values, incorporating elements that highlighted their expertise and provided a welcoming space for queer clients.

    5. Launch: Delivering a Polished Website
After refining the design based on client feedback, I built and launched a user-friendly, mobile-responsive website that met all the key objectives. The final product effectively communicates the coach’s brand, showcases their services, and resonates strongly with the target audience.

    The Result
The result is a polished, user-centered website that not only represents the fitness coach’s brand but also creates a welcoming space for queer clients. My approach, grounded in Design Thinking and shared values, ensures every project resonates deeply with its audience.

  • Strategic Research in Action: Developing a Brand and Marketing Strategy for a Leading Job Search Platform

As a researcher and designer, I believe that impactful design and campaigns are rooted in deep, qualitative insights that resonate with the target audience's core values and needs. I was chosen as the researcher in a project by one of the leading online job search platforms to develop a strategy for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) campaign. This collaboration was driven by our shared commitment to fostering inclusive, diverse workplaces. Through thorough qualitative research, I aimed to craft a branding and marketing strategy that not only highlighted the platform’s values but also effectively engaged and inspired its diverse user base.

  • As a queer consultant and sexual health care advocate, I believe that meaningful change is driven by education and advocacy centered on inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment. I volunteer for ABqueer e.V. to provide queer education for aspiring teachers, equipping them to understand and support LGBTQ+ youth in educational settings.

Additionally, I advocate for comprehensive sexual health care for FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender individuals) through the Safer Sex Berlin collective.
My work also extends into the realm of club culture and awareness. With Clubcommission e.V., I facilitated an awareness workshop and designed an eLearning module focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within club culture.

Through these diverse roles, I aim to empower educators, community members, and cultural spaces to create environments that respect, uplift, and celebrate all identities.
